Dynamic QR Tool is a free service operated by the EngageSlide team. We keep data to the minimum needed to run it.

Static QR codes

Static codes (Static URL, Text, WiFi, vCard, Email) are generated entirely in your browser. Their content is never sent to our servers.

Dynamic QR codes

For a dynamic code we store the destination URL, the optional name and colors you choose, the creation date, a hashed (irreversible) form of your IP address used only for abuse limits, and a hashed form of your manage key. We do not ask for your name or email.

When someone scans a code

We count the scan and add it to aggregated statistics: the date and hour, the country and city (derived from the network, not GPS), the device type, operating system, browser and preferred language. To estimate unique visitors we compute a one-way hash of the IP address and browser string with a key that changes every day. That hash is kept only in server memory for the current day and is never written to disk. We do not store IP addresses, set cookies or keep any per-person record. Statistics are only visible to whoever holds the manage link.

Analytics

Our website pages (not the redirect links) use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful.

Deletion

Deleting a code from its manage page permanently removes it and its statistics. Codes may also be removed if they violate our terms.
